An amber necklace can look like a seaside souvenir – or like designer jewellery. The difference lies in shape, amber colour and setting.
Pendant shape
- Circle – the most versatile; draws the eye to the centre.
- Drop – elongates the neck, beautiful with a V-neck.
- Rectangle and shield – geometric and modern, often chosen by men too.
- Heart – romantic, a classic gift.
Size
Pendants of about 20–30 mm are discreet and office-friendly; 35–45 mm make a clear statement with a jumper, turtleneck or simple dress.
Amber colour
Honey and cognac tones warm the complexion and go with almost everything. Green and red-brown are rarer and more eye-catching. At ZILVANO every piece of amber is different, so every necklace carries its own piece number.
Setting: classic or modern
Amber is traditionally set in metal. We set it in fossil bog oak – wood preserved for millennia in its deposit (Series 7500, C14 dating of the deposit) – and jeweller’s resin. The black oak makes the amber glow.
Length
The most popular length is about 45 cm – the pendant sits just below the collarbones. Our necklaces come on a braided leather cord or a snake chain (45 cm).
