Large or small amber pendant – matching it to your figure

The same amber pendant can look subtle or bold – size decides. Here is how to choose.

Sizes in practice

  • 20–25 mm – small and discreet, for the office and every day, good for a petite frame.
  • 30–35 mm – versatile, visible but not dominant.
  • 40–45 mm and more – a statement pendant for plain clothes, a turtleneck or a simple dress.

Figure and proportion

Jewellery should be in proportion to the wearer. On a petite frame a large pendant easily overwhelms – 25–30 mm is ideal. On a taller or broader frame a small pendant can “disappear”, so 35–45 mm works better.

Neckline

  • V-neck – a drop or elongated shape that echoes the line.
  • Round neck – a circle or oval just below the collarbones.
  • Turtleneck – a large pendant on a longer chain over the jumper.
  • Shirt – a small pendant in the open collar.

Chain or cord length

The most popular length is about 45 cm – the pendant sits just below the collarbones. Our necklaces come on a braided leather cord or a stainless steel snake chain (45 cm).

Colour and size

Dark cognac amber looks smaller than light honey amber. A large dark pendant is therefore easier to wear every day.

ZILVANO pendants

Each pendant lists its size in the product description and carries its own piece number. See Baltic amber jewellery or our amber necklace guide.
